Individual Therapy
In individual counseling or therapy, a client meets one-on-one with a therapist in 60-minute sessions. This working relationship may last for only a few sessions or may continue for much longer, depending on the needs of the client. Clients also come to the center to work toward developing a better self-image or to achieve personal growth.

Family Therapy
MCS offers expertise in relationship and family issues. We aim to provide counseling with a focus on the solution rather than the problem when we work with families.

This is a summary of the two types of tests that are conducted at MCS.

Comprehensive psychological test: A test that measures various aspects of psychological functioning, such as emotion, cognition, behavior, personality, and habit. It is a standardized and systematic test that involves a 1:1 interview with a clinical psychologist and a self-report test. It is suitable for those who want to know more about themselves or the effects of stress on their brain and body.

Autism spectrum disorder test: A test that diagnoses a childhood disorder that affects social interaction, communication, and behavior. It is based on the child’s developmental history, clinical observation, and various assessments. It is suitable for those who have concerns about their child’s development or behavior.

PLS-5: A test that measures the language development of children from birth to age 7. It covers pre-verbal, interaction-based skills, emerging language, and early literacy skills. It is a play-based assessment that is comprehensive, reliable, and trusted.

SELSI: A screening test that detects delays in receptive and expressive language development in infants and toddlers from 5 months to 36 months. It is based on the caregiver’s report and the therapist’s observation of the child’s behavior. It provides information on the developmental age, percentile, and variation of each area of language. It also indicates the approximate level of language development for children with language disabilities.

REVT: A vocabulary test for children from 2 years and 6 months. It shows the relative level of vocabulary development by giving an overall picture of the child’s vocabulary ability.

Preschool Receptive-Expressive Language Scale: A test that evaluates both the comprehension and expression of language in children from 2 to 6 years. It consists of two areas, receptive language and expressive language, and is conducted with color pictures and familiar toys. It gives the child’s language level as a language age and percentile score, allowing for a comparison with peers of the same chronological age.

Clinical observation: The therapist observes the child’s behavior in a structured play situation and analyzes and evaluates the child’s pragmatics, syntax, meaning, cognition, articulation, and symbolic play development.

Session plans are tailored to the individual client’s needs and goals. The goals are to help the client achieve independence in various tasks, such as buttoning, eating, drinking, catching, writing, drawing, dressing, and turning pages.

Clients enjoy the occupational therapy sessions at the centre. They have fun doing fine and gross motor activities in the gym or the playground. The activities are challenging but achievable, which boosts their self-esteem and motivation. They learn the skills faster when they have fun.

The occupational therapist helps clients to perform their occupation with their fullest potential. The occupation includes play, daily living activities, and typical tasks that they do routinely at home, community, and school.
